I have been blessed to have had the ability to create, build, and maintain a very successful photography business over the past 11 years.  Not only do I love what I do, but it also has given me the opportunity to meet some fantastic people along the journey.

As a result of my good fortune, I like to give back.  Sometimes it's providing discounts, or free giveaways, or doing photography work pro bono.  Last year, I ran a contest that would award the winner free wedding photography.  That's right ... absolutely free.  One lucky couple was going to win a full 8-hours of wedding photography.  No strings attached.

But how do I select this lucky couple?  Certainly there are thousands of couples that would love to save the money and receive free wedding photography.  So, I decided to have a contest.  The purpose of the contest was to enable me to select the lucky couple that I felt deserved and needed it the most ... a couple that perhaps was going through some tough times, and could really use a pick-me-up.

So, I run the contest, and simply ask engaged couples to send me some information about them, and why they felt they could use free wedding photography.  The entries come rolling in daily, and by the end of the contest, I'm sitting there with countless stories from engaged couples all over the area.

Now the tough part.  Reading through all the entries, and selecting the lucky couple that will win.  Let me tell you, this was a very tough decision, as there were many heart-wrenching stories.  But one stood out.  And it was the story of Tricia and Billy, who have gone through some very incredible times over the past few years.  Yet through all the challenges, tears, and pain, one thing stood out ... and that was their unconditional love and support for one another.  No matter what life threw their way, Tricia and Billy leaned on each other, and made it through.  And so it was done.  I selected Tricia and Billy as the winner!

Tricia and Billy exchanged their wedding vows at the beautiful Lakeview Farms in Dover.  Even with threatening weather on the horizon, they were able to have their outdoor ceremony overlooking the horse farm as they had planned, along with the ability to get some incredible outdoor photos between the rain showers, and even some in the rain with the aid of an umbrella.  Thank goodness for water-resistant cameras and lenses!

The newlyweds danced the night away inside the beautifully-decorated large barn on the premises, with the DJ spinning the tunes from the balcony.  At the end of the evening, Tricia, Billy, and I took a short walk on the grounds of Lakeview Farms, and got some stunning night-time photographs.  Man!  I just love night-time photography!

Congratulations again to Tricia and Billy, for not only becoming husband and wife, but for also receiving free wedding photography from R Lawrence Photography!
